A
NEW HERB

Yamoa powder is an asthma remedy from Ghana
that remained a closely guarded secret until 1994, when a shaman revealed it to
her grandson who had moved to London, and gave him permission to share it with the world. He brought the
ground bark of the Yamoa gum tree (Funtumia elastica) back to England
and asked 20 fellow post office workers who suffered from asthma or hay fever
to try it. All reported improvement. In fact, the asthma patients threw away
their inhalers and haven’t needed them since, and they haven’t needed Yamoa again,
either. More recently, in a double blind study of 78 patients, 90 percent
recovered from chronic respiratory problems.
Traditionally, yamoa
powder ($40 for 30 grams) is mixed with honey and taken by the teaspoon twice a
day for one month, or ¼ teaspoon of the powder (which tastes bitter) is mixed
with juice or water and is taken twice a day for a month. For convenience, yamoa
powder is also available in capsules ($45.95 for a one-month supply, plus shipping:
$5.30 for one container, $6.10 for two, $13.90 for
three). Considering that many asthma patients obtain lasting relief from a
single one-month course, Yamoa is a bargain. For additional information or to

are available for orders of six or more bottles.
In a recent customer survey, 29 percent of
responding asthma patients reported they were cured, 40 percent reported marked
improvement, and 19 percent reported mild improvement. Among hay fever
sufferers, the cure rate was 43 percent, marked improvement 34 percent, and mild
improvement 11 percent. Only one user reported an adverse side effect, an
itching in the throat. Yamoa powder doesn’t work for everyone, and it does not
come with a money-back guarantee, but so many have responded well to this safe
and simple remedy that the odds favour experimentation.
